Rpm drops down when turning steering wheel

Seems like my car lose power when I turn steering wheel or things that take power.

Is it a battery* or alternator? Or maybe something else.?

The battery is a year old*

If you arent moving and turn the wheel its going to bog down the rpms because its really hard to steer the vehicle with no movement. The PS pump is working overtime and requires alot of energy to move that fluid.

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to have both the battery and alternator tested to make sure that they are okay, but if its only happening while your arent moving then I don't see a problem.

It happens mostly when I'm trying to get out of parking.
Than sometimes the rpm drops like almost kill the car. And sometimes keep stalling.

Power steering pump could be going bad.

If the bearings are shot it will resist the pulley spin, slip, break your belt, etc causing all sorts of havoc.

Or any other pulley going out for that matter.

Check for whirring/groaning from the belt area.

I believe it would be around 12.4 volts without the car on and around 14v when the car is running. But I agree with what ffdp said.
