I have recently bought my grand prix and enjoy it to death.

However, I noticed a few times not all the times though that at start sometimes it doesnt like to idle. It will just die out. The only way around this is if I hold the rpm's at like 1,000 for just a few seconds for the engine to catch.

It runs fine after that. Sometimes if I get the rpms to about 2,000 it starts acting as if it has hit the rev limit cause it starts buckin.

I took the car to Autozone to get the SES light checked and it read my Throttle Possition Sensor was bad and my Camshaft Position Sensor was bad.

Now im hopeing that would be whats causing the issue because if so i will get those both fixed next week come pay day. If not i will still get them fixed but i will also look for what ever the problem may also be.

So if anyone has had this issue before please let me know.

Is it normal for sometimes when you idle to hear a gurgleing sound?

It sounds right about in the middle of the car, im assuming a hole in the exaust pipe but not to sure havent been under the car to look, just thought i would ask.

I had the same problem with my 2004 and cleaned the throttle blade and body with carb cleaner i have not had a problem sense
 
Yes those problems you currently have def. Could cause those symptoms that you also currently have. Try cleaning the Idle Air control passage out with carb cleaner also. It's the little motor looking thing the throttle body.


The throttle blade is inside the throttle body. It's the butterfly looking thing. It will more than likley be black but after you clean it it will be brass looking.
 


Okay thanks a bunch. I will go snag some from autozone here in a little bit and see if that helps.

One other question could that cause the car to completely stall when i shift into drive on the occasion?

Its only done it to me twice in the last i dont know 2 weeks or so.

So its not something i worry about happening, but it has happened none the less.
