• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

roof rails

They fit all bodies, 2 or 4 door. I can't tell you about paint, but they simply stick on with an adhesive. You'd have to talk to someone who paints on the other issues.

Nope, the coupes and sedans are the same wheel base.

You also may be able to find them used on Ebay sometimes. But they're getting hard to come by.

i know that. I swore i saw a sight a while back that was selling them but i must have saw wrong cause i cant find them anywhere.

Most places sell out of them pretty fast.

If you really want them after you have looked everywhere else, I do have them. I wish I could sell cheaper, but that's the best I can do. I hope you find you a good set someplace.

if you still have them toward the end of next month i'll be interest for a set. i think they look sick on my monte;)

Do you know if they'll fit on the 04+?

Not without modification/additions. They are too short for the channel. They are the correct shape though. Roof rails will fit all (not sure what years, ? to current) Montes and 97-03 GPs, others you would have to customize.

can somebody tell me what the hell GM was thinking when they designed these rails.
I honestley dont see any use for them. am I wrong?

i'm pretty sure it have something to do with nascar racing. my guess would be same purpose as what the spoiler does.

Yeah, they are purely appearance additions inspired by the NASCAR roof "fences". In NASCAR, they do serve a purpose. Google it and you can find all kinds of info on the real parts, function, theory, etc. Ours began with the GP Pace Cars and were later added to Special Editions and 40th Editions.

Unrelated, but these are also used in top speed vehicles at places like the Bonneville Salt Flats, etc. Just another aid to keep all four wheels on the ground. I'm sure ours would show some, but minimal real function and probably at speeds above what most or all would do in them. The real ones also aren't as "pretty". and have few similarities.
