Roof question....

I have a 2007 GP and am looking for ways to better place my kayak on top of it. I am wondering what is under those 2 strip that run from front to back of the roof. Anyone know?

Nothing, they are just body trim pieces. A painted surface is under them, they are put on during assembly.

So they won't support load at all if I clip to them and there are no mounting loops under there.

How do they fasten to the car?

I don't know how your mounts clip to the car but the only thing holding those trim pieces in place are 3M doubled sided tape style product.

Lol wow that's pointless. Hmmm I might have to do some fabrication. Maybe pull some factory roof racks off something else. Thanks.
