Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Rollmaster doubleroller?

Timing

New member
Im making this thread in hope to get a better understanding on this chain. Some people tell me to run it, others tell me they are garbage and to run stock chain with 105 springs. I would love to run it and throw on some 140s and call it a day but if the rumors i hear are true im not going to.

I dont want opinions. . .

I want to hear from peoples experience and that alone.

Who has run this chain and what is your success? How many miles have you run it? What mods are you running?

Thankyou to everyone for your help. Im starting to get a better understanding on what i hope to be the correct decision, I just want this project to go smoothly and not have issues.

So that huge long chat about the double roller in the chat box this afternoon went in one ear and right out the other, or should I say in one eye and out the other.

You saw what can happen and will at some point, but these are just words on a screen and I'm a fairy.

Ive seen what can happen yes in both good and bad. Im eventually gonna push this car to the point where i will need a double roller. Do the people pushing 400+ hp run a stock chain i think not. I dont hear about people breaking them every week so ill take a risk. Ive heard more good things about it then bad. same goes for stock. Nick had his stock pop in 8k on xp, but at the same time ive seen threads where guys push it to 50k. Fact is with a stock chain and 105s ill have valve float and or not be able to push the cam to its potential. So if **** goes down with the double roller like i said i have a stock chain as a backup. If it comes to that ill throw the stock chain on and some 105s and never push the car further. But really there are guys that dd 500+ hp and i dont hear of any issues, do you?

Just how high are you planning on spinning this motor that you'll be getting valve float on a set of 105s?

Who DD's a supercharged 500hp 3800?

What is your idle set to? This will make a large affect on chain life.

I'm revving to 6500 on 105s with a stock timing chain. No signs of valve floats what so ever (though I haven't had it on a dyno to watch the power curve to confirm)

already took one motor out on a stock chainset with 105's

i use properly machined and blueprinted double rollers for anything other than a stock/mild power build
