ok guys im comfortable installing rockers myself....so i wanna get 1.9's now with a 3.4, headers, intake, and a tune will i feel a huge diff.? this is a daily driver so im thinking a cam is just too expensive and not a DIY...will i be happy or should i save for a cam im only looking for a high 12 sec, low 13 sec DD....lemme know....

rockers headers and pulley WILL make a big difference. with a good tune its going to run like a raped aped compared to what you have now.

once i put my headers on i noticed a nice performance gain. just got done last night puting my 1.8 roller rockers on. the computer has not had time to adjust (usally no matter what i put on, if i reset the computer its slower for a few days) but it already feels faster. ill let you know in a couple of days when it straightens itself out. im still on the stock pulley and tune and its pretty fast.

your going in the right direction. if that set up doesent give you the times you want, add some metenoal injection down the road. i think that is a great start tho.

also lot on how it runs is determend by the tune. i wouldent slack on that aspect

damn alright rockers it is! should roller rockers? or i was thinking about gettin some 1.9 modified to save some dough....

easy as pie. hard part was removing water pump and other brackets to get valve covers off. once they were off, just unbolt the old rockers and torque the new rockers down. could not have asked for anything easier.

im kind of scared of the cam install. alot of people spin bearings after they do the swap and i just dont want to risk it. i wouldent really know what i was doing.

i think rollers walk circles around non rollers (modified) they rev faster and are smother for the valve train.

i would try and find some used roller rockers. i got mine for 200$ plus 60 more because the guy dident have the pushrods that came with them (slp's use a longer pushrod)

new the kit is like 450+ i know the modified rockers can be found for cheap, but i think rollers are 10X's better.

ok thanks good to know zzp has aluminum 1.9 rr for 400$ thats not rediculously expensive i guess save up my unemployment haha

i think even zzp's kit comes with pushrods and yes the pushrods just lift right out.

i also wouldent forget about the used parts section. deals can be found.

im running stock modified 1.9s and cant complain. it helps with the top end and breathing. they are a piece of cake to install.

i will probably be selling mine within the next 6 months or so since i just bought a cam, but dont expect it to be anytime soon.
