Rockers break in

The price I gave is from the on base shoppette. They're actually cheaper than Autozone (even after my 10% discount) since I don't have to pay tax on base. I remember when it was $7 a quart and that wasn't too bad.

Lol, changing the oil in another 500 miles can get expensive.

If you think it's fine, then it probably is. If you did feel that it was a little excessive, then i would throw in the cheap regular stuff, not the royal purple. It would cost you $20, and it would be a lot cheaper than finding out that you have a bad rocker, or worse.

When i had the camaro, I changed the oil every month. for the most part, it was approaching 2k on the oil, but sometimes it would only have a few hundred miles, but it was worth it to makes sure that there were no problems. Luckily I never did.

Lol, changing the oil in another 500 miles can get expensive. I just switched back to Royal Purple and that stuff gets more expensive every time I buy it. $8.57 a quart now. Another oil change is just too much. :th_laugh-lol3:

I think it's fine. Most of that probably came from the minor imperfections in the newly machined seats on the rockers. The pushrods are a harder metal and they'll wear the seats to their shape.

I just order mine off the internet;

I had some meterial in my oil after for my first oil change at the 500 mile mark for rockers. I would not worry about it.

I don't feel it was excessive. Just enough to coat the little magnet on the tip of the drain plug.

I now remember someone on NAIOA encountering the same thing after his ER rocker install. I should be good.

Thanks guys. :)
