rocker arms cam help

those rockers are completely different from one another. do you have a base model or do you have a GT?

so dont go the roller rocker route then, or am i better off just putting a cam in it

A cam will produce more power than rockers will, but is much more labour intensive to install. How much power are you looking to achieve, and are you considering adding some sort of boost later (S/C, turbo, etc.)?

no booster later just a lil more power and feel when im driving, i have the money, i shows the cam will produce 30 to 50 hp it dosent show how much the er rockers will go

W Body Store

i was looking at the split ratio ones from wbs

oller Rockers – If you want to upgrade your valve train and have the money to do so and are going the rocker route then Roller’s are right for you. Roller Rockers are a lot lighter and are much easier on the valves than the stock or Modded Rockers, but come at a price. Much more expensive than the Modded Stock Rockers for about the same performance gain. Roller’s come in the ratio of 1.60:1, 1.70:1, 1.80:1, 1.84:1, 1.90:1, and 1.95:1. Anything higher than 1.84:1 ratio is going to be needing valve springs to compensate for valve float as long as you are going to be shifting higher than 6,000 RPM’s. LS6(#90) or L76 Springs are great and cheap for this upgrade, but you will need retainers too. These are a great alternative to a cam budget wise and you still retain very stock drivability and some have even reported better gas mileage. Keep in mind you will benefit even more from a custom tune afterwards. Also remember that if you ever go with the cam route, you will have to sell the rockers as you can only run stock 1.6 ratio with a cam for the most part...unless you want to combine a higher ratio rocker with the cam you just installed for a crazy amount of lift. Cost: $399+

this was why i was going to go the roller route because it says it is easier on my valvetrain

meh..youre only going to get negligible gains from modding anyway, so id save money in areas i could. roller rockers are not needed for what youre looking for.

If you're going all out, 1.6 RR's are probably a good thing since stamped steel rockers vary quite a bit in actual measured lift. So do RR's but they don't vary nearly as much.

ZZP seems to have more things in stock all the time, but you'll save some money with the W body store but they make take longer to get them since they're a smaller operation.

ok do i need springs retainers and rods, because intense has rods that are 30 percent lighter and are only 60 so since i will have it open already it takes the extra 5 min to put them in, i am getting my pcm tuned by intense also and also do i need rocker lifters to be replaced due to bleeding with the higher compression.

so dont put the money into the lighter stronger rods ok, any other upgrades i should think of doing other then whatever i have already

HV3, that or shorten your runners yourself.

Its basically changing the top end of the engine to the supercharged version.

You get boost, if you're lucky, you can run a 3.5" pulley with headers.

If you wanted to compliment that nicely, get some 1.95 rockers or cam it.

how much does a top swap normally go 4 im looking to get some punch 2 my car without putting a turbo whatever is the best way im going to go i dont want to buy the er's and their are better options without changing tranny etc for my 08, already have hv3 with headers and 3 inch exuast downpipe and catback
