For starters this is a 2000 GP GT, my key fob progressively stopped working so I replaced the battery and it started working again. And now all of a sudden nothing, but if I hold the UNLOCK and LOCK buttons at the same time the horn sounds as if I locked and activated the security system. So I thought maybe something caused the program data to drop, dead battery over a few days or something to that affect. So I been trying to reprogram it and here's where I get a bit confused. I go through these steps:
Key out
doors closed
mall pgm fuse out
switch to acc and wait for the 4 chimes
then go from off to acc within 1 second
open and close a door
hold down UNLOCK and LOCK buttons on remote for 14-16 seconds
ignition off and key out
replace mall pgm fuse
now when i go from acc - off - acc I get a sequence of chimes 1, 1-2, 1-2-3 and that repeats 3 times then I do the door open and close and I get 1 chime when i open and one chime when i close then I proceed with the remote and i get a chime and a honk at about 6 secs and a chime at around 14.
I have done this repeatedly with no success, so I am wondering if I am doing something wrong or the BCM is just being stubborn
