The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
No, but that is understandable, had a '90 caddy and it didn't do it, and a '92 cavalier, and then a 98 truck.. None of them had that feature, it sure is handy though
There is a flasher module on many cars that allows current to flow through a peice of "special metal" that gets hot as current flows through it. When it gets warm it expands. Once it hits a certain temp, it will expand enough so that it breaks the circuit. When a bulb goes out, it changes the amount of current going through the circuit and the expansion/heating rate changes as well.
Positive side of circuit o--------o "special" wire expands upwards
Negative side of circuit o----*
The 5-button DICs on the 04+ will for example if you right rear turn signal is out a message will show up that says "Right rear turnlamp out." It will only come up once then the blinker will blink fast.
I had the same problem and DIC indication but problem persists even though I replaced the bad bulb, rear right on '06 standard model.
Any ideas anyone ?
really? I have known cars to flash fast or stay lit when a light is out for years and years. it is one of my pet peeves to see someone with the front flashing like crazy and the rear nothing. I wonder what that person is thinking? anyway, I realize not everyone knows of that feature
