Reverse top swap

So I am looking at normal top swap posts, and it doesnt say you had to change the fuel lines, etc. I am trying to hook up supercharged fuel lines to an l36 fuel rail, and it wont connect. Even bent out the tabs a little bit to see if that was the problem.

Thoughts?

you need to use l67 fuel rail on the engine. the l36 rail wont fit as the injectors are in a different place.

what year car are you top swapping?

you need to remove the plastic clips on the NA fuel rail fittings. the NA hoses have plastic ends and two tab clips, that you can remove with the std tool or with just your two fingers.... while the SC has stainless ends and "tool only" clips/teeth.

because people remove em via the finger method the plastic clips stay on the rail nipples

yeah the NA rail sorta requires a 90* elbow on the return near the thermostat...the sc lines may not reach over there without kinking the plastic hose

you may need to ditch the oem lines and run braided line and AN fittings with quick disconnects

They reached just fine, just wouldn't secure. I figured they were interchangable due to not seeing anything special with adding supercharged rails to non-sc cars.

AN fittings are out of the question. Not spending $200 to make NA rails fit. Rather just get all new pines from the junkyard for $5. Pretty sure they disconnect under the car anyway.

the clips inside your ends may be damaged

you can buy the ends in a fuel line repair kit and use a pic to remove the new units guts/orings and swap em into your fittings... at least then you eliminate the orings as a possible fire hazard

They snapped right back onto the supercharged lines while trying to compare them. They also never leaked. Im assuming they wont work and will try to get a NA setup for it.
