I just finished my car up yesterday. I'll show you guys what I've all done. I also wanna see who else resurrected thier Grand Prix. Takes a lot of work and money but I'm satisfied!

Thanks man. Took a long time since I have never ever done this kind of work before. Bought the wrecked car in November of last year lol.
 
I should have clocked my hours in on the car lol. There's a lot of sentimental value... but the car is at 100,000KM. I've seen on kijiji for a stock Comp G with 160,000KM asking for $8,500. It was gone within a month. So if I sell it, it'll be worth it.

I also had my 04 GTP go up in flames so I had $4,400 to throw into this car.

Wrecks are a tricky ordeal. If they are meant to be kept as a daily id be all over it because parts are stupid cheap and everywhere for the most part. Esp mechanical parts since they are very interchangeable off the crap ton of other w bodies in the yards.

Flipping them gets to be tough depending on state being titled. (some its easy to clear a wreck or salvage title vs others)

Also area makes a huge difference too average daily cars go for a lot more back at home in ND then the BMW Porsche Audi Benz infested metro area like Washington DC.

Personally the " I did that " does have a little pride to go with it. Ive been brought up in a family that's says if man built it I can fix it kinda mentality, however again cost is always a factor.
 
^^True that. The scary thing about where I buy my wrecks is that it's an Online Silent Auction. So you have to trust the pictures and the "cost list" that the adjuster took.

Like you said. The W body is a really good start in my opinion because there's millions of parts everywhere. This is my first build and I think I got lucky.

Both airbags and seat belts set me back $380...including the airbag control module in which from a dealer it would be over 2 grand.

I like that mentality your family has. I'm a farm boy so practically every thing is either salvageable or fixable lol.

Refusing to pay some other monkey to do a job I can do with my own 2 hands has saved me God knows how much in repairs over the years, no matter if were talking the stupid dryer not cranking out some heat, to the dash in my suv only blowing on defrost! (<<<<< That dash job is about a 600 dollar repair and the part only cost 40 bucks....)

A little google research goes along ways in todays world I mean cmon its 2014 information is everywhere........

There was some people that made comments in the past about the interior dash that I took out and installed. "I could never do that"... neither could I but I used common sense... and Google lol
 
Yup I have the same mentality yea I can pay someone to do the work for me but I refuse to pay for something I can do myself I hate pissing money away. Now I do have some family members and friends hat have that mentality and would rather throw away a chunk of money replacing or having some do the work for them so they don't have to get their hands dirty then ***** about how much they're charged.

$380 - airbags+all front seat belts+airbag control module
$200 - moog wheel bearing
$100 - valvecover gaskets
$20 - aluminum 90° elbows
$30 - oil+filter
$30 - green coolant
 


Question:
Doing the front wheel bearing.. the top bolt that hold the wheel bearing is in between the CV boot and the strut and is on a ****ed spot... how do I get that whore out?????
 
unplug the wire from the harness by the control arm and the whole hub comes out the front wire included. Wire does not go out the back. Just pound the whole hub out the front once the 3 bolts are out.
