Resonator or glasspack

I have a 2005 3.8 n/a with stock exhaust.

My resonator has went and wanted to know if I should just replace the resonator or go with a glassapack like cherry bomb. I am keeping keeping the stock muffler.

Would there be a difference in sound from a resonator or glasspack? I know the glasspacks are a hell of a lot cheaper, that's why I am considering it.

Thanks.

Nope...not really. You might notice a little deeper of a tone but that's about it. Most 3800 people who build exhaust system's replace the factory resonator with a glasspack anyways...so if you ever wanted some more sound out of it...you could slap on a different muffler and you'd be ready to go.

i have no cat replaced resonator with thrush glasspack and some magnaflow mufflers and its much deeper with the glasspack than it was with the res

Thanks for the reply.

I have a question about the 2 bolt flange, would a shop remove this or weld after the flange. Mine is really covered with rust.

If I had it my way I would like to weld a new flange to the glasspack and install. Does it matter?
