Replacing the Laderal linkage

I was told by the jerk off at fire stone that the laderal link on the gp is bent and needs replacing has anyone ever done this? how hard is it to do whats all involved in doing it?

I bent up the right pair on my Impala not long after I got it. Backed up into a curb at a bad angle. They're not hard. Remove bolts, remove lateral link rods, put new ones in, put bolts on tool tight (but not all the way tight), lower car, tighten bolts to specs with torque wrench. Have a beer.

Shouldn't take but an hour or so.

Let me see if I can find you the torque values...

110 ft-lbs for the bolt at the knuckle
103-111 ft-lbs for the bolt at the crossmember.

Ok cool thanks appreciate it.

funny thing is the so called ASE certified mechanic from fire stone pointed to the lateral linkage and called in a trailing arm..... dumba$$:th_laugh-lol3:

Oh, I just noticed your screen name. If you do have an 89, the torque values I just gave you are wrong. I don't have the numbers for your model handy.

Yeah, I've heard mechanics call the lateral link rods trailing arms before. You're talking about the rods that come out from the center of the car to the knuckle, right?
