Replacing suspension before alignment

My sister's car is in need of suspension parts so she can get this thing aligned. My question is....is there a certain order that applies to replacing parts?? I changed my struts before my tie rods on my gp and it steers straight. I only changed the tie rods before my struts on my Taurus and now the car is out of whack. Just curious... Thanks.

tie rods all depend on how close you get them. ive replaced them 2 times now and both times i was pretty close.

when i swap them i break the lock nut free, then leave it right on the inner rad. then take the old tie rod off, new one goes on to the old lock nut. make it tight. then off for the alignment. cause new parts make it all change. you can only hope to get it close.

strut swap can also through the alignment off.
