Replacing Shifter Cable

Hi All!

I have a 97 Grand Prix SE (3.8) that the clip on the shifter cable broke (on the console side), so the bracket no longer holds it in place. After ages of searching for a replacement I was able to find one on eBay (no local shops or junkyards had any).

The new shifter cable appears that it may come apart in the center... is it possible to just disconnect the half that is broken to replace only that half? or is it required to replace the entire cable?

You can simply disconnect in the center and only replace the half that you need to.
