what would happen if you broke a few of those plastic "lips" when taking off the old o-rings? Can you reinstall the injectors without them?

where did you get the clips from? I went to advance, autozone, and pepboys, and none of them knew where to get them from. I bought a "Seal Kit" from all the places and the lip wasnt in the package.

Link to the write up is broken....anybody know where to find?
Pretty straightforward. Disconnect the fuel rail using fuel line removal tool. Then pull off injectors and replace the top and bottom rubber gasket on the injectors. O rings can be purchased from any parts stores.

the fuel rail has 4 nuts holding it down, ( 4 outside corners) remove the injector clips, the vac line off the fpr on the rail, lift the rail up, the injectors will pull out of the lim, no real need to undo the fuel line. unless you want it off, then you'll need a 2 different size fuel line disconnect tools.

to change the O rings i found it easier to cut the old one off with a razor. oil the new one, roll it on. get some q tips, a lot of them, then clean out the injector holes real good, i used brake cleaner sprayed into the cap, dipped the q tips in the cap, then cleaned the holes. re oil all of the o rings, and slide them back in. bolt it back down, install the injector plugs and vac line..

if your changing the top o rings as well, theres a clip you pull out, then pull the inject or out of the rail. its easy to see how that part comes off. same deal cut them off roll a oiled new one on, put it back in the rail, re clip it.

Thanks guys, this came up in a search on the fuel line disconnect o-rings and I found what I was looking for here. On the injectors, I sent them out to Mr. Injector to be ultrasonically cleaned, balanced and rebuilt when I did the LIM gasket, and they came back with new O-rings.
