replacing front seperates with a single 2 way

Hi all. I had the basic stereo set up, that i replaced with a pioneer HU and 4 speakers. I put 2 way speakers in the front instead of the separates set up that comes stock. However, I simply cut the wires to the tweeter, and then spliced the wires from the woofer to the single 2 way. I'm no pro, and wasn't thinking about it at the time, but should i have spliced the wires from the tweeter also? Am I missing my Highs?
