Replacement Valve Covers ?

i need to do valve cover gaskets and would like to replace the covers themselves with something other than the crappy plastic stock covers that are probably warped anyway. my question is , are there other cars that i could snag the valve covers off of that are made of different material that will work for my l67 GTP ?
i know zzp and a few places sell sweet after market aluminum valve covers , but i'd prefer not to pay $250 for them if i can find something at a junkyard that will work.
i seen on another forum where somebody mentioned a rear wheel drive l36 that came with aluminum covers that might work or maybe some year of firebird , but nobody confirmed it.
 


The f-body 3800 valve covers wont work if im remembering correctly. I think its because the dips for the injectors arent there (Same as the l36/l26). I think your stuck with the l67/l32 covers or zzp covers.
 
I know this because a few months ago i tried to get some f body valve covers to polish because i didnt want to spend 200 on zzp covers and they wouldnt work because the injectors were in the way.
 
sc valve covers and n/a v covers are not the same.

iirc zzp sells metal ones for the l67. you need to buy the gaskets they sell for them.

and get felpro gaskets and grommets for the valve covers when you re used the crappy plastic covers lol
 


^^^^^That. You could also use bondo/ body filler on the grooves to make them look like the zzp ones (but painted of course).
 
new question !!! are the bolt patterns the same on both VC's? zzp was selling just the front covers on ebay for $89 ... can i use 2 fronts ?:th_scratchhead:
 
of course now they don't have em listed anymore...said they made too many front's so they were selling em cheaper.
 


The polished aluminum covers are $209 right now. You could always wait till Black Friday and see if you can get them for less $$$ when ZZP offers them for sale.
 
so i keep seeing threads mentioning zzp's black friday sale which apparently is the only time they offer a discount...what kinda percentages do they knock off generally ?
 
not enough to be worth it still i bet. a can of paint some primer and sand paper and bam. you got better looking covers for 25 bucks or less.
 
^^ obviously never saw a ZZP black friday sale.

They do price some stuff very well. but it's limited to the point that you must live on your pc for 3 days w/o pee breaks
 


so you gotta stare at your pc like a flock of vultures and wait for sale **** to pop up ? lol
 
Someone posted these long ago. They are holden valve covers. I believe these need to be used with a cork gasket. Been a long time since I asked the guy a few years back.
