Replacement trans has leaky fitting.

I found a shop to swap a junk yard trans into my 00 GTP. It was suppose to be done today but they said after they did the trans swap, the fittings are leaking. They said they're getting new fittings and the job will be finished Monday.

I'm just curious, does anyone have any comments or concerns I should have?

It's not uncommon to have a fitting that leaks on the transmission. Normally it's just the oring that fails and allows fluid by.

It's possible the junkyard trans was from a different year and had different fittings and they had to swap them over and now they leak.

Junkyard reciept shows the trans being XAB from a 00 GTP with 95k, but the plate on the trans that shows the marking isn't there. When the shop told me about the leak, I asked them if they could use the fittings from my old trans, and they said no, and that they're going to get new ones.

Turns out the trans wasn't an XAB. Local shop told me it was an older one, swapped the fittings, fixed a leak there. Also, the pan was damaged, swapped the pan from my old trans, which has 8mm bolts and the junkyard trans has 6mm. So they drilled them out to fit.

You could also look if the tag is on the back of the trans. The big number is the year. It'll say 7 and you know it's not an 07. I'd be speaking to the place that supplied it. They owe you a bit of money back.
