The front bumper on my 2004 is scratched and dented and i want to get a new one, i have seen on ebay the aftermarket ones and was wondering if anyone as used these and are there any major problems with them, like overall fitment, or fitment with the fogs and headlights. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the recommendation but those are all almost double the price of what i can get off ebay and way to far away, thats why i was looking to the aftermarket ones. Has anyone ever used the aftermarket ones?

Granted, this was for a 97-03, but I got an aftermarket bumper cover from Carpartswholesale, for $50 shipped. It was brand new, and it fit perfectly. It had a gel coat finish, so it had to be sanded, and a few of the edges needed to have them trimmed with a razorblade to get rid of the molding excess. Total prep time was around 1 hour before I started spraying primer.

Your best bet is to find a color matched in a junkyard. The 2nd best would to get a new aftermarket one, and have it professionally painted to match the car.

Lishap, a mentioned this topic to a good friend of mine who owns a body shop. My 04 Comp G has a front skin that looks terrible with all the stone chips and wrinkle cracks from impacts. He said that the ebay skins fit ok but he has had problems with paint sticking to them. Something about the mold release getting into the plastic.

^ That's why you have to make sure to prep the bumper properly before spraying. Otherwise, yes, you will run into problems with the paint sticking. (Found this out the hard way)

This is why prep is always the most important step.

I don't think they are allowed to unless they have the rights to use the design. Mine didnt, so I got an overlay from reflectiveconcepts, and it looked normal.

I have an aftermarket front bumper on my 2005 Grand Prix and it turned out pretty well. The paint is holding up just as well as the rest of the car and the installation went very smoothly. Has anyone found good decals for the aftermarket bumpers? Since they don't have indents for the Arrowhead and Pontiac lettering.

I got one in a junkyard in the right color for $25. granted it took a few months to find it but worth the wait I feel
