• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Replaced blower motor, still nothing. HELP PLEASE!!!

on speed 5 the resistor is bypassed to fuse. check fuse for blower. test blower on speed 5. if it works on 5 but not 1-4. its the resistor. if not then ignition relay issue.
the #5 speed fuse is in with the glove box fuses. the owners manual will show it. it say's something like HVAV-HI if i remember correctly. but either way do replace it...

well the pictures lie. i dont know why it looks so light blue in the pics, but its not. ive parked next to a gulf blue in daytime and nighttime before, it is not even close.

we're getting off topic. i should have asked if it was MGB first. i assumed it was as not very many people custom paint their GP's...

yeah, my bad. alot of people say that or call it baby blue, it just gets me irritated

we all missed you Irish, we truely did.

**** man, by seein all those pics tho, once i opened the hood, or the doors i woulda been blown away. btw, are yours the stock leather seats that u colored or are those different?

Because being upside down in the passenger seat is not fun for 20 minutes.:(

ha.. good point.

I got my blower motor resister from the J-Y for free. It was brand new in the box inside the glove box of the GP I was looking through ;) Its nice having all speeds now instead of just 5 haha.

FINALLY got mine fixed! Ended up replacing both the blower motor and the resistor. My dad felt it was better to have them both replaced that way the other wouldn't go out later. So finally I have nice cold air!

At least it's working, right? Especially with the heat we've been getting lately (presuming you are in Michigan).

My blower on 99 LS is working only on VERY low speed. Can move between floor, mid, etc. but air barely comes out. Was working fine until yesterday when it just "stopped" as I was driving through town. Tough to take in 90 plus summer! Would suggestion for this still be resistor as well?

BTW its a dual zone digital control. Where would I find resistor on this one?

^Yes, thats your problem.

Same location, under the dash, passengers side, waaaaaaay up near the fire wall, just above the carpet. It screws into the same area as the HVAC fan is.

The resistor does not exist on a dual climate control, instead its a module. I just replaced mine because it was shorted out, and the HVAC fan inside the car was running by its self with the car off. A common problem I guess according to GM.

GM Part number 89019166 and get ready for a huge hit to the wallet, mine ran $177.52.

The GM resistors, part number for my 97 if I had one, would of been 89019101 and they only run $50.26.

Ya...bend over for that one.

My new one from GM, on the left:

wait, are you saying your resistor was 177$? and they do exist, cuz mine is dual climate, and i had to change it last year, and what is that picture, thats not what my resistor looked like?
