Replace Passenger-Side Mirror

I recently was smart enough to scrape my girl friends 2001 Grand Prix GTP against a wall. The passenger side mirror is scraped up and slightly dislodged (see attached pictures). I would like to replace the unit. I have found a couple decent options on ebay.

I am not technically inclined. Removing the interior trim panel is a bit daunting to me. Can the mirror be replaced by simply removing the speaker triangle?

Does anybody have any other tips on mirror replacement? Or even a source of a replacement mirror (black).

no, the speaker triangle isnt removable like that..
you need 2 torx bits under the arm rest handle.
then pop the inside panel off
remove the large chunk of foam you see where the mirror attaches, disconnect the wiring for the mirror, 3 #10 bolts later you have removed the mirror. then just reverse it for the new one.
taking the door panel off isnt very hard at all.

getting a new mirror id suggest a junk yard, i clipped mine in feb. spent $40 and 20 mins of time and i had a "new" one right in place.

you may or may not break pop clips on the door panel, dont go ape **** on it gently pry around edge with a metal putty knife. also replacement clips are a couple bucks from autozone, or body supply stores

Thanks for the tip. I am going to give this a shot. I have the mirror on the way.
