Removing rear seats

I started to pull out the rear seats today so I could replace a dead rear speaker. The bottom came out with no problems but I can't budge the back of the seats. I removed the 2 small nuts on both sides and then the 2 large ones that the belts are attached to. Now I'm stuck, I can't figure out where to go from there. What am I missing?

I just remembered that there are 2 nuts in the trunk that could be attached but I'm done for the night so if I don't hear otherwise, I'm going to try them tomorrow.

Jeez, mine must be welded on. I figured it should be something simple like that but I lifted up on them as hard as I could. Maybe I'm just weak.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try them again tomorrow

ya my were hard to get off too, but remember when ur putting the seat back on you have to get them into place first

Wow, what a pain in the ass just to get one speaker out. I may replace both now so I don't have to do this again.

I don't know why they didn't make it easy like my old Buick. The speakers were held on with easy metal clips in the trunk and they would just drop right out. Replacing them took about 5 mins.
