Removing needles from gauges

I hate the gauges on the GP. They go back to the mid 80's, are dated and fugly. I found this replacement that is blue at night which I love.

How difficult is it to remove the needles off the gauges? I tried this once on another car and screwed up the gauges.
This is the site...

They pull straight off BUT you can point them all upwards and slide these gauges on over top. Taking them off is pain, because when you put them back on, you gotta know where to put them, which is impossible with speed. For speed you either need to have a HUD and drive out and place it WHILE you're driving (placing it at 0 just doesn't work), or you need something else to read back your speed. Plus as you're placing them they tend to shift and bit and be off-center.

Something else to keep in mind: the gas gauge portion has a needle stopper to the right of the 'F' on my gauges, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. These overlays don't have a hole for it. You'll have to either grind it off or punch a hole in the gauges.

I had the indiglo set and hated it, the different colors of blue just don't look right IMO and over time they get dim..

Here's my past set ups... time to pic whore :)

Indiglo gauges with a carbon fiber trim overlay as well.

do they all have the ugly halos in them? i hate that and i know if i go to stip mine ill fudge em so over lay it is

i put the 04+ needles on mine. but anyways, the needles pull straight off.. to reattach the speedometer needle, i used my aeroforce to find 60 mph, set the cruise control, then installed the needle at 60. if you have a gps, hud or some device that will know what speed you are going, thats how you do it

For my MPH needle i drove the car and looked at my heads up display to see what the speed was. Pain in the ass but it worked lol.
