Remove Power Seat

I found a power seat in the local u pull and prey and I want to install it in my 97 SE. The problem is that the seat is back too far and covering the bolts. Is there some sort of manual override to move the seat up so I can get to the bolts? Power seats are great as long as you have power.

im thinking the seats will work with out the key on, if theres just a battery installed, and the wire harness hasn't been destroyed, a jump box may do it, hell ask the yard to hook up a battery for ya, they want to make sale one way or another.

on another note if you cut the wire harness and start playing touch the wires you may be able to get it to work, make sure you cut the harness after the plug with as much wire as you can cut so you have some room to hook it up to a battery or jump box.

Recently told a buddy on a local forum the same basic thing. Cut the car side of the wiring so you can hook up a jump box/battery to the thick orange and black. Operate seat.

Otherwise you could unhook the cable underneath at the motor and spin it. Maybe a cordless drill to spin faster.

I was at a junkyard too and had the same problem! No battery or power. I didn't know what to do so I left it. What is easier power drill or jump box?
