Remote unlock/start

no, negative. ur missing the point of what i wrote. i told a story of getting a second key fob and getting it programmed for free. the whole point of the story was getting it programed for free and not paying some 45 46 dollars. if u had gone to the dealer after buying the new keyfob and told them it wasn't working properly they would have reprogramed it or given u a new one freshly programed if u were under warranty. and seeing as you have an 08 GP u should still be under warranty...... and u would have just spend time instead of money.

Lmao, ya I’m going to run around looking through lost and founds for a FOB. Ya right! My time is worth more than that. Consider your self lucky Carmax popped for the remote after BS-ing them and call it a day. I got a great deal on the car, used with 20k miles on it knowing it had only one remote. I looked for a remote right away but as I posted earlier the FOBs were outrageously priced, so even if the warranty covered the re-coding I would have lost my ass buying the remote. Regardless it wasn’t cheap to get the spare, but I would have done the same thing again.

Gahris – yes the GM dealership had to do it. In talking to my locksmith he intentionally got out of that service because it is just too complicated in today’s market. I would imagine it would be hard to find any locksmith who would programs the 04+GPs.

u should read it twice because i said car max gave me one fob but i found a second and went to a GM DEALERSHIP and got it programed. and it wasn't hard gettin the second one cuz i went straight to an amusement park where they have plenty of lost keys sitting there that no one claims. but before i did that i was hopping to get one off of ebay for around 50 but the owner kept posting fake bets to raise the price. but all in all paying for the fob was alright but paying for them to reprogram it was something else. but to each there own.

I got both your points, both were useless and not repeatable in any way. How many people do you think both live next to amusement parks, and have a vehicle from Carmax? :th_laugh-lol3: Get real. Read my post again, I acknowledged both your ideas in it. Why the crap do you think I wrote the second half of my first paragraph? The End.

wow, ur kidding me right.
my point has nothing to do with finding a spare key fob or having a vehicle from car max.
If u don't understand that im trying to tell u that you should have got it programmed for free then u fail. standard warranty for any GM car should be 36,000 miles. After u bought ur fob from off ebay u could have went to a GM dealership and had them program it for free and not pay 45....but whatever. I don't know why u keep bringing up car max or the amusement park.
