Remote Starter issue

So my remote start is not working. I noticed there is a dark blue wire that is connected to the ignition module but not connected to another end. It looks like it was pulled out of something obviously. This happened when we were doing the intake gaskets. When I try and start it up with the remote start, it cranks and it sounds like it almost turns over but is stuck in the middle and it just stop it because it doesn't sound good. When I start the car manually its just fine.

My buddy said hes pretty sure this is from the remote start which is why its not working.

Any ideas? Would like to get this working by winter again, this happened back in April and I just forgot about it.

Thanks you in advance

Remote starts should be lfet for the pros. If done wrong, it can cause harm to anything electronic in the car. I would take it in.

Is it an aftermarket Remote start? If it is, the dark blue wire usually connects to the immobilizer bypass module. You got any pics?

Thats prolly your Tach wire. If the remote start doest get the signal from the tach, it will just roll over but never fire. Unless your system has a voltage sense then you dont need the tach. But thats the only wire I can think of that would need to go to the ICM. Remove that tape on the harness and see if there is a stripped wire where that one use to go.

Also, where does that other blue wire go?

Oh wait! I see now...It looks like it pulled the wire out of the jacket (the one that appears conncted) Remove that tape and reconnect the wire to where the other one appears to be connected to.

I will try that...the blue wire that is connected and the one that I'm holding is the same wire....so your saying go ahead unwrap the black tape from where the wire looks to be connected and wrap the part of the wire that is disconnected to it?

OH! No, dont do that...it looked like the wire was broke right there at the ICM. I was just saying connect it back together. That wire goes from the ICM to the remote start module. You need to locate the remote start module, it will probably be under your driver side dash.

It's fixed! Thank you very much for your help. I found the remote start module and what do I see...a single wire that is popping out of it that was not going to anything. When I bought this car the guy told me he put the remote starter in and obviously because that wire only had electric tape on it. I wrapped them, soddered them and tapped them up good.

Thanks again!
