Remote Start???

I am looking into getting a remote start for my car, just wondering if anyone else has had one installed? Looking to see what is required for installation. I had one in my SUV and they had to take one of my keys to install the system BUT I only have one key for my car. Can anyone tell me what it took to install it, and yes I will have it done professionally just looking for price range. I'm not looking for an expensive system, just somerthing to get my car warm or cool before leaving home!

I had a Compustar remote start and keyless entry installed on my '96 gp. I've had it for about 2 years now and can't complain. I lucked out though, my key doesn't have the chip in it so it only cost $200 for everything. It's another $100 if you have a chip in your key because they have to include a bypass.
 
We took my moms 07 Jeep to the dealership for a remote start for her birthday and it was only like 350-450 for the remote start and hooking the system up. It works really good and it comes with a second remote so no key needed.
 
I have a remote start & alarm in one. It was about 500.00 installed. Told me I needed 2 keys as well, and all I have is 1. They said it was no problem they would just have to find a different diagram or something. So if you get a viper, I would say 1 key would be fine. It was in my case.
