Remote start on a 2008 Grand Prix GXP

Hello, first post. Have 2008 PG GXP. Remote start won't work. Decice is activated, lights flash when button on fob iss pushed, but engine won't start.

if there is a pending cel or a cel currently it will not start. also the key fobs are prone to breaking. take the fob apart and put a small wad of aluminum foil on the contact pad. put it together and try again.
 
i dont get it..... cel ??? also if the lights flash, wouldnt that mean that the button on the fob is making contact????

( i have the same problem with remote start, never thought it was really an issue, but when i get back to my car it will be winter)
 
cel is check engine light. i missed the lights flashing part. yes the fob is working. if you do not have a check engine light then i dont know what else it could be.
 
question is the key fob look like a factory one or aftermarket? if it's aftermarket you need to check into it a little more.
