Remote Start and AC

So for those who have Remote Start, Does your AC/Heat blow when you turn it on?
Can you control when yours comes on and off? (i.e. does it blow when it is on and not blow when it is off)

My car has remote start and when i first got it, the ac would blow sometimes when i used the key fob to start the car. I couldnt control when it came on, the temprature, or the blower speed. it was just random. And whenever it did come on, it would be at full speed on the coldest setting for AC...which isnt bad at all in the summer...but a B!TCH in the winter. I started having intermitten issues with my ac working and not working about 2 years ago. about a couple months after it was intermitten, it just stopped all together and i ended up going a whole summer w/o ac. Come to find out, the connector behind the dash that connectes the HVAC controls had melted and was arcing. Replaced that with one frm a J/Y vehicle (based on the rpo code on the trunk, it had remote start) and ever since the replacement, the ac does not come on at all when i remote start the car. Only when i put the key in. Is this normal? Was i ever supposed to have the ac come on when the remote start was active or was that apart of that melted connector in the back? If its not normal, what needs to be done to gain this feature back? Its been hot as balls when i get in the car as of late...and im sick of it lol

So i figured it out...after a lil research. Turns out, our HVAC Controls are way different. Obviously we have the dual climate control box but there were 4 different variations...2 variations of the Reg Climate Control and 2 variations of the Dual Climate Control. The first variation (of both reg and dual) only kicks on when the temp is btn 35 degrees and 90 degrees and it goes to 45% blower speed, full cold and defrost vent. The second variation has more detailed settings. Kicks on heat and rear defrost when its below 35 degrees, retains last known settings when it is btn 35 and 90 degrees (i.e. if you left it on full blast and full cold when you turned the car off, that is what will come back on when the remote start is activated) and if its is above 90 degrees, 100% blower speed, full cold and defrost and front vents are what comes on. So now i gotta check my HVAC module and see which one i have. Hope this info helps someone.
