Hey, I'm new here and just looking for opinions. I was wondering if anybody had ever recolored OEM rims before? powedercoat or painted, etc. I have a '98 GTP pretty much stock accept for pcm and 3.5 modular pulley system. Anyways I did a photoshop of clear corner lenses as well as black painted oem rims. What do you guys think?

Thanks for any Feedback or Tips.

DO NOT paint them, if you want to change the color, have them powdercoated. Its more work and money, but trust me you will be cussin the first nick in them from the road.

Like this ?? Got these from a friend, to use a spare... Duplicolor from the auto parts store.

I agree on the powdercoating or professional job though.

is it just me or does just black rims look bad? they look so good with a chrome or polished lip but when its just all black i hate it

IMO, completely black rims can only look good with some shiny drilled and slotted rotors behind them to make the spokes stand out. Otherwise you might as well have some crappy black steelies.

But even then, I think a polished lip always looks better.

i agree i would love to powdercoat my stock rim a gloss black but not before shiny rotors and possibly painting the calipers red
