Rear Window Just Dropped

The rear left window had dropped halfway, while sitting in the parking lot. Brought car home and removed panel. The switch is fine and power flowing nicely. The window will go down but struggle to go back up. In the past, I simply replaced the entire window unit (regulator and motor). Should I just replace the regulator. GM will not sell the regulator alone.

the cable probably got eaten up. you never see a regulator with out the motor, not much anyways. best to just buy the whole set up. ebay has worked for me in the past.

That's how I repaired the driver side a couple of years ago. Might just as well do the same. Advance and O'reilly both carry these units though I do not know about fit and finish???

Went to O'Reilly and bought the Dorman OE Solutions - Window Regulator
Part # 741-838 for $111.00. It has lifetime warantee which is better than AC Delco as it has none. Installed nicely and works just fine. Product from Vietnam.

Next time look on eBay. I've bought at least 4 new motor/regulator combos for my GTP. They are usually about $30-40 and work fine.

One more thing to remember. Pick up some new plastic clips from the dealer for the door panel, which will provide for a tighter fit upon reassembly. The plastic clips are pretty much trashed when you pull the panel out.
