rear strut boot ---- IM having more issues

I have been noticing a rubbing sound coming from my rear end. I noticed the boots that sit inside my trunk have fallen off the top of my strut. Is this a possible cause or do those boots in the trunk have no real purpose?

They have no real purpose as far as I'm aware. I left them off when I changed my struts and have had no abnormal noises coming from there.

The only thing those boots do is make it so you don't see the top strut plate. No real purpose that I know of.
 
I don't know where to even start, i still have squeaky brakes after replacing all the brakes again, and now i have a huge creak in the back of the car as I'm stopping .... just before i come to a complete stop. I can't stand this anymore .... its always something
