Rear STB Differences

So why cant 04+ use a rear STB from a 97-03? Is it because the bolt pattern is different? Or is there some other factor?

Well ZZP sells theirs for the 04+ that's "adjustable". Then there's BMR's "adjustable" ones, but for the rear they state it only fits 97-03. I'd rather buy an STB that has brackets that use all 3 bolts. And for the rear it seems that you can only buy one like that for 97-03 so I was wondering what made them different and why all these vendors say they won't fit.
 


I don't think there is any difference, I'm using coilovers that guys install in the 97-03s and I just looked at advanceautoparts.com to see if the strut top mount in the rear was different, but the 97-03's and 04+ all use the same part number for a strut top mount. So we know that the bolt pattern in the rear is the same, I'm wondering if they adjusted the frame a little so the strut towers are a little further apart, but that would mess too much with the suspension geometry. I do know that a few guys had problems with the ZZP STB fitting because they weren't long enough on their 97-03s, so I'm gonna say that the 04's for the rears are adjustable

We do have the DR brackets with the OEM STB option as well.
 
So logically speaking, if I were to maybe pick up a rear STB with a heim joint (i.e adjustable one), it would probably fit? I'm actually running DR brackets and the GMPP bar in the rear, but as far as I know, the strut tower can still flex. And when student loan refunds get here, I'm doing an overhaul on the rear suspension and figured I'd get a set of STB's with 3 hole mounting brackets for an overall stronger design.
