Rear Speaker Issue

My rear speakers are temperamental. Just got car about 2 months ago. Rear speakers work fine when it's hot outside and daylight. Usually at night as well in cooler temps they stop working. Any suggestions please?
 


I have checked the clips. Sorry, but not sure what a multimeter is. Maybe you could tell me, I may know and don't realize what it's called :th_biggrin2: It's so crazy. It isn't like they cut in and out or that they have a static sound. They just work when it's nice and hot and when temp cools off (like at night) they quit and only the front works. Was out last night, headed home around 11:30...working fine, just a bit cool outside, but after I traveled 2 or 3 miles they stopped working. It was like the car was still warm, but when I got to driving and the wind cooled it off, they stopped.
 
A multimeter is a tool that measures voltage to a wire. You usually put a red prong on what you want to check, ground the black prong and look at the screen for your info.

From the fact that temps change wether they work or not, and you have checked the connection on the speakers, I would assume that you have a wire shorting out or a bad ground. Checking the voltage with a multimeter should tell you if it is the wiring. If that isn't the case, it is most likely something internal on the speaker itself.

Also, I should have asked previously, but is the audio system completely stock?
