Rear Bumper Paint Question

First of all hello everyone, I'm a new Grand Prix owner and love these forums and all the useful information!

So i had my car about 5 minutes after driving off the dealership and I got rear ended! My car is a silver GT sedan. When the body shop replaced the rear bumper at first they painted it all silver, I pointed out the inset part between the exhaust tips is supposed to be a darker gray color. So they took it back in and fixed it. Now my question is this, is that gray section supposed to be high gloss like the rest of the bumper or more of a semi gloss matte finish?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Mike

Not suppose to be glossy at all it's a matte finish just like the front valence. Painting it body color is a option for the owners preference..I painted mine a few years back to colormatch it.

I just had a question similar to this on another GP forum because my bumper is a solid color and doesnt sat pontiac either. I guess that from the factory all cars came with the grey valance and said Pontiac except for 2002 40th anniversary cars and 2003 Limited edition. Also 2003 didn't have paint on the valance i guess. It was just left alone from my understanding. Then cars like mine that don't say pontiac are an aftermarket because they couldnt say pontiac for copyright reasons.

Most people here paint that small section black, set's it off really nice too. Sucks that you got rear ended shortly after purchase. Hope this helps. Here is mine before and after
