Rear 02 Emulator... good idea or no?

Okies... Cats clogged up on the car and fortunately the fine state of Oklahoma has no quarrels with emissions so vs an after market cat im considering the cheaper route. In the future when I get a tune after an intake and smaller pulley and headers ill get tune and delete the rear o2 settings but for the mean time... does anyone use one, have used one in the past or want to tell me a reason "Rear O2 Emulator: 3800 Performance" will or won't work. If its a decent working product that will last til i get headers and a tune next income tax season Ill get one and remove the cat, and replace with straight pipe... if not i don't want to waste the money. :th_thumbsup-wink:

sorry... long runoff sentence i kno... :th_nanana:
We have no emissions laws in effect in Oklahoma so running with no cat is perfectly legal as long as you don't look like a smoke machine driving down the road. This is why I dont want to drop 400+ in exhaust work when I don't have to so please no suggestions for aftermarket converters.... just knowledge of the 02 delete please and thank you :th_winking:

Depends on the year of your car...if it a 01+ then you can use it but it'll make you run pig rich all the time...97-00 cars are okay with them though.

Honestly...if there are no emissions laws I would just have someone set the code to no report in your PCM and get rid of the cat and the u-bend at the same time and skip the emulator.

Tried the emulator but it failed on me in a matter of weeks.. not reporting now and no problems at all.

I would do that but nobody i know has the tuning software to do that... Not sure if the techs at the dealership i work at know how or even can do that with the Tech II system. Closest place i know that does that is a 2hr drive and its where they dyno tune cars but i don't want to tune it still being stock, just to mainly delete the cat code

:th_shakinghead2: silly complicated computer system *sigh*

you cant do it with a techII

Ya didn't figure Id be able to... and I dont know of anyone with HP Tuner Software or anything like it so Id have to go to a shop that could do it... which is a long drive and prolly $$$... IF theyd do it because its out of state and TX DOES have emissions laws... so the shop might not even do it :(

why does it have to be so complicated hahaha... guess if it was easy EVERYONE would do it right? :th_laugh-lol2:

Do I just need to take a trip to Oklahoma? All you guys down there are hosed it seems. LOL

lol

Still planning on coming up. Like to bring Shawn along but hes been pretty busy. I was supposed to be up there for a concert on the 15th but that fell through....

BAHAHAHA i went up a year ago with a friend to pick up a car.... 14 hrs was a long trip for a car... even longer for a tune :P

need to have a middle meet somewhere.... i go to tulsa regularly to visit family so a lil further wont kill me:th_winking:

We are having meets all the time at Kenton's (Turbo Kent) house in Tulsa and I always have my tuner with me. If you want to make the drive here to Rogers, AR I can knock them out for you. Its only about 1.5 hours from Tulsa, or 1 hour from Fort Smith.
