• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Re: (wa04compg) 2004 Comp G: Operation Headers

Yeah I am going to take the chance and see how long the SD flex will last...I have a Tig welder at work so when it does I will just weld in a new one...or just put a piece of pipe lol

Re: (wa04compg) 2004 Comp G: Operation Headers

Finishing headers today...install band clamps plugs new wires rtv egr to ensure to leaks mock up the DP for welding wipe down with brake cleaner....so far I seem to have good clearence between firewall and o2 sensor...I can fit my finger in between

Re: (wa04compg) 2004 Comp G: Operation Headers

I had to air hammer my floor board a little bit to clearance the O2 sensor. This was on my Regal though. So an 04+ car might have a slightly different floor pan

Re: (wa04compg) 2004 Comp G: Operation Headers

glad to hear 04+ SD installs going easy.. Means when i ever get the cash to pick some up it should be a smooth install.

Re: (wa04compg) 2004 Comp G: Operation Headers

Yeah I just finished up about an hour ago...its dark outside so I will get some pics tomorow...went good overall downpipe as a tiny leak on one of the clamps but I am going to weld the dp together anyways...hardest part was getting the front header on and lined up with the crossover...clamp from crossover to rear header took a long time also...band clamps worked great those connections are leak free and I didn't use any rtv...also put in AL605 plugs and some new Belden plug wires from Napa because the Oreilly's ones are crap and they all broke when I took them off...I also reused the stock manifold gaskets and they aren't leaking...had to remove metal shield on passenger side radiator fan to clear header tube...below 2500 rpm is not as snappy but above 2500 it pulls way way harder all the way to redline...lots of work but I am happy with the results...car is alot faster even with stock pulley

Re: (wa04compg) 2004 Comp G: Operation Headers

Rear header and part of crossover I wasn't really able to wipe down very good so they show some marks...no one ever sees that part anyways...Well worth the $217

Re: (wa04compg) 2004 Comp G: Headers Pg 8

Deeper more throaty tone but overall similar...I have stock mufflers so its not really loud to begin with just throaty

Re: (wa04compg) 2004 Comp G: Headers Pg 8

Na man I like it mellow I like loud exhaust but not when I make long trips

When you finish installing and before you start the car up, please clean them with brake cleaner or something. All the oils and crap from your hands will burn into the headers and they will look like trash forever. Atleast by cleaning them, they will look good for about 8-12 months. After a week or so of being gold, they will turn rainbow at the elbows on each front pipe.

No they wont. Rust over in under six months haha.

Re: (wa04compg) 2004 Comp G: Headers Pg 8

The downpipe will for sure.

The front and rear header on mine are still in okay shape. But my downpipe is just surface rust now lol.

Re: (wa04compg) 2004 Comp G: Headers Pg 8

Meh I don't really care about the rust...stock mani's where rusty and most all headers will rust over time anyways...they make the car faster thats all I care about

Re: (wa04compg) 2004 Comp G: Headers Pg 8

Well after selling my DP bought a MPS from zzp sent me a 3.5 instead of 3.6 haha they would...installing it tomorow fianlly!
