Raybestos & Z Pack.

Need opinions on this know very little about our transmissions or any really and wanted to know if these would help out a lot on a pretty high hp build. The car will be a DD and track use as well but mainly Street use. Anything close to 400whp is my goal with a XPZ build so i need something reliable i dont want to be swapping trans all the time but to last me a good 100k without issues on it breaking down so i want to get whatever good parts are best to make it reliable. Found someone selling the Raybestos Blue plate special and steel Z Packs and wanted to get opinions on them and if this is something critical to change or upgrade and how well they do?
Any help is appreciated just want to know if they are worth buying or not.

Under high HP application the 3rd gear clutch pack is known for being one of the weaker links. Z-Pak clutches are no longer offered and are about impossible to find. With the HP level that you'll probably end up at the Borg Warner high energy frictions are probably your best bet. Modified 3rd gear clutch packs are usually reserved for the guys running the turbo setups.

Well I found a guy selling this stuff but idk if it's something I need or not and what is a good price to pay. I should mention I might be doing a turbo gp as well.

After ALOT of research, and time spend, i built probably one of the stoutest Trans except for the GM Racing Trans.

I used the Raybestos Stage 1 Red clutches. for the Input, and Second gear. I also added clutches to the 2nd gear clutch pack.... I spent a few hours on the phone with the Raybestos Team, and talking about what GM did when they were in the racing program.

3rd was the Zpack unit with Triple edge larger input clutch piston

The Blue Plate specials are for a Racing application only, they are not recommended for "street" use according to the Raybestos Team

the Hard parts for my build include the Intense 300m, Chrome moly pump shaft, Triple Edge Valve body and channel plate, 3000 stall, GMR 1" chain, and GMR Torsen Diff

Here is my build thread

Thanks man good stuff there.
Some questions. Is everything you got still available for our transmissions?
I know the rare gmr chain isn't but besides that can they still be had? How much whp and tq can a Trans like that hold I know the chain helps out a lot though

What was/is the larger input clutch piston you got from TEP? I wasn't aware there was something different for that. Do they still sell em? or was that one of Dave's modified zpack setups with the extra plates etc?
