Ok, since im on a roll going nutz i will ask this, WHY THE HELL isnt there any good aftermarket parts for our car? Performance Intake?? Heads??? Obviously we have a cam and rockers but come on now, why is there so little for our cars? ESP the NA group, i think we got nothing, i mean the 3.8 Tbirds could atleast take the heads and split port intake off of truck engines bolt them on for adtl power! Sure we have performance Trannys but what about the engine!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGgg:th_angry2:
 


ummmm as it states that there is really nothing for our cars in terms of engine bolt ons such as performance intakes and heads, when i look for performance parts nothing gets pulled up, and if there is anything its mainly for the S/C?
 
Because the main upgrade is a top swap or other power adder like turbo or CSC. Without going to that, you still have things like the HV3. For the most part, the aftermarket does concentrate on the L67 simply because that's he cheapest, most effective way to make power.

what do you mean there isn't any good intakes...Wizard, TDC, JMB...

You would hardly see any gains with ported heads because your car isn't at that level yet. They are available, all you have to do is go to your local racing shop and they can port or zzp and intense have modded heads too.

Why don't you just top swap it?

Here is an intake that I make for any 97-03 grandprix and best of all it's cheaper and more effective than all of the other ones out.

When he says intake, I think he's talking about upgraded intake manifolds, which there really aren't any upgrades for besides something like the the HV3.
 
Ah. Well even then to do a top swap is not very expensive these day's. And it's a decent gain from where you are at now.
 
my main concern is the trans, im sure the engine is still solid for a top swap, my view if im going to put a S/C on her its pretty much a must that i do the trans as well, which is why i was hopping for other options to keep my car N/A and put a few extra ponies in her, figure manifold, head, cam swap would give it some extra pep with out worry of the trans in terms of too much power.
 
GT transmissions are crap. They can barely hold up with the N/A...wait till you throw a S/C on it. A heads/cam L36 will still probably shred that tranny. Triple Edge Performance for transmissions. And I LOL'ed at no aftermarket stuff.
 


lol, its true tho i mean if a base line tbird has options (they also have the SC model) for NA i dont see how the aftermarket world would hold back, they could make some pretty serious parts to enhance the NA engine, i mean im going to build my own intake for it, but adding boost isnt the only answer, they should make some more performance parts for the engine, and yeah the trans is crap LOL

I still maintain that the difference between the HD and non-HD trans is negligible. Sure, it might not hold up to a one wheel peel quite as long, but that will kill them both.
 
^^idk, mine came with an hd, thats the way its stayin... i will say though i wish i had put the 3.29s in there when i rebuilt it.. oh well.

So...you're still thinking that there isn't any aftermarket for the N/A 3800? They make your heads, cam, rockers, pushrods, intake manifolds, larger throttle bodies, headers, stroker kits...what more do you want...if you want more you go boost and never look back...Get a snail or get blown :th_thumbsup-wink:

I'm not saying either of them are great transmissions...I am just saying that the HD would most likely (or in theory) would be able to take more of a beating than a base 4T65E...
 


whats the site? everywhere i have looked i cannot find any of those parts, aside from the rockers/rods and cam.
