Random Stalling only when hot

2001 Grand prix gt. Did upper and lower gaskets last Xmas. Ran fine then 2 months ago has started stalling and hesitating. Runs fine when cold only happens once it gets warm. Where do I start looking?

Also is there a way to get the check engine codes from the ecu without a scanner?

Pull those codes first.

No, a scanner is the only way to retreive the codes. Hit up a local parts store as they should be able to scan it for free. Post the codes here and we can offer better suggestions on what to look at.

usually rough idle means you have a vac leak when you have them scan it for the codes ask if they could look at Your LTFTs (Long term Fuel Trims) if its pegged at 16.4 you got a vac leak to find

No rough idle (as a general rule that is) . It will hesitate and stall if I give it too much gas, it then run fine for a bit then anywhere from 1 to 30 min later do it again. Does it at idle or under load. Regardless thanks for the suggestions. I will get the codes pulled this week and post them up thanks

Curious, Did you ever find the problem, it sounds incredibly similar to what my 01 gtp just started doing-occaisional roving idle-from surging to 1500 and then almost stalling, bucking at light throttle-only occaisional as well, and No Codes. It sounds like a vaccuum leak to me, but He11 if I can find it!-Oh, and all only when Warm-Runs like a scalded cat when cool/cold. Not the cat, not the rear O2 (deleted to confirm). So far I've swapped out all the ignition parts (parts car, 00 gtp) for testing and no change .........Thanks for looking, Mike

i would look at the fuel pressure. if your pressure is low it can cause it to run poorly. i had my fuel pump go out on mine its not that hard to change
