Random no start- flooded?

About once in every 100 starts, my 2000 gtp fails to start after the first turn of the key. After that, it will not start.... Just crank & crank... Acting like it is flooded. If i let it sit for 10 minutes or so, it will start right up. Any suggestions?

Do you hear the fuel pump during the no start conditions? My GT used to do that except more often, turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator. Take the vac line off of the top of your regulator and let it run for 5 minutes or so and see if any fuel seeps out of top of the regulator, if so replace it.

Popped off the line to the fuel pressure regulator. It was dry. The rubber connector has a crack in it. I don't think that would cause it, but i will fix that.

The fuel pump primes when the key turns on. Just seems to flood if i don't get it to start in the first try.

If it actually is flooded, mash the pedal all the way to the ground and start cranking the car.

This puts the car in clear flood mode. It shouldn't start - or easily at least, but do this a couple times and it should clear the cylinders up.

So this issue is down to about once in every 30 starts. There is just simply no ignition. If i keep cranking, it will not start ever... Just crank & crank with no attempt at ignition. If i don't keep cranking i can wait two minutes and try again and it will fire. No idea where to even start to diagnose the issue.
