radio delemia

i know. clarion has the same radio in both styles. i didn't know if any on this forum had any input towards a certain style in regards to an 04+ car.

a radio is a radio is a radio.

If your looking for signature characteristics nobody can help but your own two ears :) I personally prefer a DSP built into mine; single din wins out in that area.

i was thinking more of function and es of install.

i can tune the sound to my liking no matter the radio.

if i go single din im going to switch positions of stuff so the flip-out wont fold back onto the main vent above the radio. i wondering if this would be ok or just to skip the hassle and install a double din. but then the screen wont be as big and i lose the stealth/ security of a single din.

I just put a JVC KW-XR610 double din in my 04 and love it. Only paid $176 at best buy. Great sound and plenty of power.

*shrug*

You can tune anything? You have measuring equipment? Took me a while to figure out my crossover points doing it by ear. Lots of music and hours spent listening to the frequency range response and guessing :) Phase and crossovers is the hardest part imo. Once you got that down tone comes pretty easy. But who says you've installed correctly for a given set of variables? That's where measuring equipment comes in. Otherwise, EQ is kind of worthless since you are working blindly :(

you have alot more options with single din i've always personaly liked that fact and you have alot more that have a 3+v pre-outputs for the amps

ok single din is what is was going for.

other than putting the A/C controls in the bottom position. how do i solve the problem of the flip-out hitting the main vent above the radio spot?

i seen someone on here had a flip-out that they could adjust how far it folds back but i dont think the one i want has it.
