Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

raced LS2 SSr

On my way to pick up daughter from school i saw this ugly lookin chevy truck thing wearin SS badges. see link Specs
Merging onto the highway i gave it some throttle and accelerated by him getting into the fast lane, he quickly followed suit. Then he started driving kinda douchey and trying to pass me on the right, but kept on getting stopped by slower traffic:(LOL He dropped back in behind me as i was stuck behind a slower moving car in the fast lane. As soon as the car in front cleared- we both hammered it from about 65-70ish. I got the 2nd gear downshift and quickly accelerated to 90+ and finally shut it down at 110. Looked in my rearview and he was EXACTLY where he was when we started. . about 3 cars back. I really don't think either one of us pulled a single inch on each other!! VERY even race.
Not knowing the powerplant to his car, i was pretty damn suprised he kept up at all. But after doing some research i was actually pretty proud my stock cam 3800 kept up with a 390hp LS2 in an almost straight up top end shoot out:th_laugh-pointup:granted those cars weigh a sh!tload.
my mods:
04 comp G
1.9 rockers w/105's
S2IC w/3.2 pulley, self tuned,20*timing 11.7afr
intake/headers/stock cat-back
supporting mod's

Ill leave it at that-short and sweet-sorry no vids-cool story though right? :th_winking:

That's where that tank would shine. 60+ mph. Truth be told he probably was gaining on you if you got the jump.

No one can tell me that that thing isn't part of the reason the General had to file bankruptcy.

Nobody wins when one of them piles is involved.

they put an LS2 in that thing? lol.
^RIGHT!? that's what i said-but it explained why it kept up- i was kinda sad at first. LOL
He must have had a few mods himself. I'm surprised that you didn't pull on him.
very possible with as eager as he was to race but i really don't know. although i don't think it's inconceivable to say he was stock. stock LS2 top end> mod'd 3800 dog piss for top end

I didn't get the jump and he wasn't pullin honestly, i was lookin the whole time. and yes that stupid little project set GM back i'm sure. fukcing weird looking things!

The early SSRs were 5.3L...I suspect that's what you were toying with. That said, congrats on getting a geezer to play- I've never seen anyone under 70 driving one of those horrid things.

Definently wasn't the 5.3L. I heard him before i saw him. pulled out from a stop light before we got on the highway and there's no mistaking the sound of an LS vs 5.3L. I would've pulled a 5.3 no problem . . even top end.
And yeah. . dude was pretty old, suprised he took the bait :)
