Quick trans identification question.

I wouldn't worry too much about that foaming cleaner. It's very similar to what is used to flush transmission coolers.
 


Shift kit most of the way in. Couple more items to go in that maybe. Pulled a long day at work so I wasn't very ambitious. So far so good. Tomorrow is cleaning and building day. Hope to get it most of the way assembled. Did find some wear of the 4th output shaft teeth. A broken electrical gizmo I'll identify tomorrow and I'll be inspecting the stack of innards for more trouble signs.

So some dingus got fired for three no call no shows in his first two weeks. So much for cleaning the trans up today. Gonna hover around freezing tonight so no water works until tomorrow.

Tore down the rest of the stack of guts today. Replaced three 2nd steels and inspected and reassembled the stack. Hoping tomorrow is the day I get to drive it.

Cleaned yesterday. Started putting stuff together today. I'll remove it all and make sure I have everything set up just right before I get the final parts for getting it buttoned up this week.

Asphalt plant will be firing up April 4th so I have a lot of projects to tie up before I got back to work.

Close. I've been juggling work and trying to get this car going. It's been kicking my ass. And it's going agonizingly slow. Luckily the fire dept hasn't been busy. I did miss a meeting Monday due to this mess. Completely skipped my mind.

I did manage to get all the guts in tonight. I have one part left over that I can't seem to locate its home. I've looked over the manual twice, took everything back out and reinstalled after looking for it's home and I cannot find it. I believe I found the part in the catalog but it's not showing in the exploded view of the internals either. I'm hoping to hit transtar tomorrow or Thursday. I have to get the 4th output shaft and an output seal.

I have no means of checking endplay but the only parts I have replaced are not related directly to things that need endplay checked or set. So I'm praying that it works fine. I hate not having all the right tools for the job but those tools are way too expensive to only use once. And you can't just rent them like you could ball joint presses or stuff like that.

I'll probably have the car running this weekend.

I found it's home. But I broke a thrust washer on the drive sprocket. Plastic parts...... Cheap parts though. Got the new tcc solenoid and pressure control solenoid installed. I'm so close. No work tomorrow. I've been working all day on two hours of sleep. We had a fire alarm at a huge food processing plant in town go off in the dryer towers. 2700 stairs to get up there and two hours to check the entire facility to ensure it was just a false alarm and reset the panel.

I'm not horribly concerned with endplay anyways. If I was doing a full rebuild I would be much more worried about it with all new parts.

That kit was probably the easiest part of this whole thing. And it can be done with the trans in the car. Looking back at it now with what I did the entire deal was pretty easy but between work and all the other crap I had going on it took forever to do and just made it seem so much more difficult. I'm very pleased with the results and plan to change the looks of the car a little bit to make it more my style I guess. Nothing major.
