Quick power steering question

I need to change the rack in my 2000 GTP. My car's steering specs are "Variable-Effort Power Rack & Pinion". Does this mean I have magnasteer? I don't want to buy the wrong rack! Thanks!

Sounds like it. If you want to be sure pop the hood and look for a wiring harness coming out of the rack close to where the steering shaft connects to the rack. If it has no wiring there it does not have magnasteer. If it has wiring it is magnasteer.

Most likely.

Easy check is to just jack up the drivers side of the car and get under it. Look for a wire/pigtail from the back side of the rack.

my old rack, see the blue plug on the right side boot, that leads up to the shiftier linkage on the trans where it gets plugged in.
