Questions about top swapping and a non-HD trans

long story short my buddy got his hands on a very nice 00 buick lasaber with like 90k on it. i dont know anything about them but i guess its a s/c'd 3800 and in a week i can get the whole engine, trans, harness's basically the whole car for like 400$.... i wanna top swap but from what ive read its a no go on the 97 gt trans.... would this just be a simple swap and go ? like drop it in and go im saying...
 


its gotta be top swaped then or a used motor or something... i dont know i havent seen it, but im sure my boy knows what hes talkin about... im gonna have to swing by and take a look tomorow after work

I have an 02 LeSabre. Great cars. Good ride, not bad handeling. They were never supercharged. Could be a Park Ave Ultra....
 
sooo its a park ave.... should i scoop sum **** off it? kids using it in the marshfield fair demolition derby... i just relle want the superchaarger and lim as long as it doesnt blow up lol
