question on porting

yea i know the TB part. i looked into other thtreads and found the one where you first did yours. i just didnt know how long the case would take since its bigger then the TB. exactly how do you go about getting the blower off? lol, never tried and was wondering what i'd be getting myself into.

When doing them by hand, the secret is to go slow, let the bit do the work, and don't force it. They can get away from you very easily and nick other places that you have done. Do a little at a time also. If you have a die grinder, you 're gonna need a good rotary file to get it done, and it needs to be specifically for aluminum. Reason being, is when it gets hot from the cutting, it will want to gum up the bit if you're using one for cast iron....the aluminum ones have bigger teeth that clean themselves out easier.

AND THE NUMBER ONE RULE!!!! WEAR EYE PROTECTION!!!!!!!!!!

but if you don't feel like going through all that, then hit me up, I'll give you the hook up.

youre never ever going to be able to machine out the h-bar by hand. that would take years of grinding on, but you can port the outlet fairly well. the inlet i just used a flapper wheel. didnt really make it bigger, but smoother.

well i'd like you to do mine.... but i work at a grocery store and dont have that kinda money :( why i asked about doing it myself. and would it even really make a difference with my mods? i'd have my headers on by then. and i really didnt mean to jack this thread

wait for a few months and ill sell you my ported case for $50. i am taking it off to put one on that i have been working on on the side to go with my alky setup.

that is the cheapest youll get a ported case for. ;)

you might want to port your lim out with it too since it is already opened up on the bottom of the blower. you just cut out a section that you can trace onto it from the blower gasket.

pretty easy, will take you 20 minutes with a dremel.

i could do that. i'd be trying to port my TB with a dremel right before i'd install the case. so it'd be pointless not to.

i dont suggest making your tb any bigger, but take out the hump. you dont need it to be bigger unless the blower inlet is bigger and this one isnt.

oh, i was only planning on taking out the hump. i'd be to afraid to try more. plus it wouldn't do anything but make it worse unless i did the same to the blower inlet. I'm pretty dumb when it comes to mechanics right now. so far all i know is what I've done or read about. I'm trying to be better, and I'm still young so i have time.
