Question on debadging

I have 97 GT that i want to debadge but im worried that there will be a very noticable paint difference from where the badge would be and if there is how could i fix this

Rubbing compound would help remove fin scratches if they were any. I don't think you would have much of a problem under a badge with that. Take some fishing line and slowly run it along the back of the badge to remove the adhesive. After you remove the badge gently role the adhesive using your thumb off the car. Clean of the remaining adhesive with paint safe bug and tar remover. Clay bay should remove most if not all of the remaining dirt/grime.
 
I know how to remove the glue and badge im talking about the paint difference from paint around the badge and paint under the badge
 


idk if it helps, but i just debadged my 98'. and there was NO fade under the badge!

if it is faded, i would try wetsanding and buffing it out!
 
i debadged my gt a while back and the red was darker underneath, was kinda pissed i had done it and was gonna put them back on but ended up slacking and a few months of sun seems to have faded the darker paint too and now i cant even tell, i took the badges off the trunk on my gtp and there was no color difference on the silver paint i could see. not much you could do though since the color is under the clear so if you dont like it either wait and see if the sun will fade it to match or put the badges back on. and just fyi, nobody but me and super car buffs would have ever noticed the color difference on my red gt
